Cabinet condemns Pahalgam terror attack
Silence observed for victims
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduThe State Cabinet, which met at M.M. Hills in Chamarajanagar district on Thursday, observed a minute’s silence as a mark of respect for the people who were killed by terrorists in Pahalgam on April 22.
A resolution was also passed, and it said that the State government strongly condemns the dastardly terrorist attack on innocent civilians in Pahalgam. The State extends its deep condolences to the families of the victims on behalf of its people. The resolution said the terrorist acts are heinous crimes against humanity, and the entire nation must unite to eradicate terrorism from its roots.
Earlier in the day at Bengaluru and the M.M. Hills Helipad, the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had blamed “intelligence failure” for the terror attack.
Later at the press conference after the Cabinet Meeting, he said in reply to a question, “intelligence failure” was not part of the resolution, though he had stated it openly before the media.
