Pahalgam terror attack: VHP demands action against Pakistan
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad and its youth wing, Bajrang Dal, announced that they would hold a nationwide protest on Friday against the terror attack
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduThe Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Wednesday (April 23, 2025) condemned the terror attack in Pahalgam and said the time has come to ensure “strictest action” against Pakistan and its sleeper cells in Kashmir to end terrorism in the Valley. The organisation, and its youth wing, Bajrang Dal, also announced that they would hold a nationwide protest against the attack on Friday.
VHP general secretary Surendra Jain, in a video statement, said that given the way 26 tourists, including one local, were killed in Pahalgam, it is clearly visible that there is a bid to bring back the days of terrorism that the country witnessed in the 1990s.
“It’s highly condemnable. Now, the time has come to ensure strict action against Islamic ‘jihadi’ Pakistan and its Kashmiri sleeper cells and to completely destroy terrorism that has dared to raise its head again in the Valley,” said Mr. Jain.
Terming the attack a “declaration of open war against India”, the VHP functionary demanded that the Union government must respond to this with equal force and ensure that the days of terrorism do not return again.
“Sleeper cells of terrorists are still present in the Valley, which are always ready to carry out such heinous acts of terrorism at the behest of Pakistan,” he claimed.
Meanwhile, national publicity in-charge of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sunil Ambekar also condemned the attack and said that everyone, irrespective of the differences, should come together as this is an issue regarding the unity and integrity of the country.
“Proper and concrete action should be taken against those who are guilty of the attack and they should definitely be punished. I think the government seems to be taking some steps in that direction,” he added.
