Tenders to be invited to run Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel in Mysuru
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduThe Karnataka Cabinet has decided to invite tenders from private parties for repair, restoration and maintenance of the Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel in Mysuru.
The private party that received the tender should maintain its heritage status, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.K. Patil said on Thursday.
Now, the Jungle Resorts had been maintaining the hotel. The renovation required ₹45 crore to ₹50 crore. The government had been finding difficult to maintain it, he said.
The Lalitha Mahal Palace was built by the erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore to host his important guest, the Viceroy of India.
The Cabinet approved a ₹2,500 crore project, including ₹2,000 crore ADB loan, for developing 500 government schools across the State. The State would contribute ₹500 crore for the four-year project.
The Cabinet cleared the setting up of digital weighing machines at 13 APMCs at the cost of ₹11 crore for weighing sugarcane.
