Coronation Street fans make same Carla Connor observation as they find her 'new job' away from Underworld

Coronation Street fans were quick to make an observation about Carla Connor as they found her a 'new job' away from running the Underworld factory.

Viewers of the ITV soap have been hooked on the character's blossoming friendship with DS Lisa Swain with teases of a romance becoming more and more present in recent weeks.

It was during the first trip of the week to Weatherfield the viewers saw a worried Carla wanting to get to the bottom of why Lisa had been arrested by DC Kit Green over the murder of Joel Deering.

After confronting Kit in the Rovers Return, she headed over to Roys Roll where she pleaded Lisa's case to Roy Cropper. Ed Bailey, also one of the suspects in the murder case, was in the café at the time and claimed there was more to come to light after his daughter Dee-Dee, who confessed to hitting Joel with a crowbar but left him alive, had said she'd confronted Joel after seeing him with a suitcase in tow attempting to do a runner after initially faking his own death.

Then, in a revealing flashback, Corrie viewers saw Carla leaving the factory on the night Joel disappeared. After fans thought she herself may have something to hide as she was included in the suspects' line-up, she ws seen calling out to someone.

It was Max and Lauren who were revealed to be outside No.8 Coronation Street in the dead of night putting a suitcase into the boot of David Platt's car.

It was during the mid-week visit to Weatherfield on Wednesday night (November 13), DS Lisa Swain confided in Carla that she believed she was being framed by Joel’s killer, after she was arrested an questioned by Kit, and she was terrified that more planted evidence would turn up. Using what she knows, Carla confronted Max and Lauren only for them to keep up their story that they were planning to do a runner to evade Joel.

But Carla reported them to the police and while they planned to go on the run, Lauren told Max she couldn't go through with it because of baby Frankie. He convinced her to take him with them but he ended up confessing to Kit that he had murdered Joel. He revealed how he had confronted him using Lisa’s CS spray, only to have been overpowered by Joel, who strangled him while holding him over the edge of a bridge.

Max recalled how he picked up a rock and hit Joel with it, before pushing his body into the river below and running off with his suitcase. Following his confession, Max was charged with murder but with Joel's killer set to be revealed later this week, is Max telling the truth.

Meanwhile, back at Dee-Dee’s flat, Lisa quizzed Lauren about Max's confession, asking her if she had anything to do with Joel’s death. Lauren insisted that she didn’t, before admitting that she suspected something strange was going on but had kept quiet because she loved Max.

But some Corrie fans were distracted by Carla helping bring the truth to light and flocked to social media to comment. @SwainsCoat said: "Not being funny but Carla has done more for this murder investigation in the last half an hour than Kit has since Joel died #corrie."

@phabiansz commented: "Quite incredible how Carla has done more policing in tonight’s episode than Kit and Lisa have ever done #Corrie."@Kelsian_03 posted: "Lisa needs to get Carla employed into the police and what’s funny is that Carla is a better detective than Kit #Corrie #Swarla."

However, @LunaLocoJewels asked: "Carla not bothered about the factory any more? #corrie." @thatsmypeachx added: "I'm fully here for protective girlfriend carla but is anyone gonna remind carla that she's got a whole factory to run hahahha #corrie."
