Ingoldmells caravan fire: Two die including girl, 10, as police launch probe

Lincolnshire Police have launched an investigation into a fire after two people, including a 10-year-old girl, were killed in a blaze at a holiday park in the early hours of the morning

At least two people, including a 10-year-old girl, have died in a caravan fire in Ingoldmells, Lincolnshire.

"We were called at 3.53 am today (5 April) to a report of a caravan fire at the holiday park where two people have tragically lost their lives," Lincolnshire Police said in a statement. "Their next of kin have been informed and will be supported by specially trained officers." Police added fire and rescue crews from Skegness, Wainfleet, Spilsby and Alford. attended the blaze. There are two crews that are still at the site as investigations continue.

"We have Crime Scene Investigators on site, and we are carrying out inquires to determine the exact cause of the fire," a Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said. "We are at the very early stages of our investigation and as such we are keeping an open mind."

Mirror affiate LincolnshireLive, reported earlier this week there had been another caravan fire in Ingoldmells on Tuesday, April 1. Firefighters from Skegness Fire Station and Wainfleet Fire Station attended at about 10:45pm. The caravan was extinguished using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one thermal imaging camera.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said of the second fire that it was caused by an electrical fault within the fuse board.
