Nottingham stabbing: Teenager fighting for life as police launch massive manhunt
A teenager is fighting for their life after they were stabbed on High Street, near Old Market Square, in Nottingham with a police investigation underway and no arrests yet made
by Tim Hanlon · The MirrorA major police manhunt is underway after a teenager has been left fighting for their life following a stabbing in the centre of Nottingham.
The young victim was rushed to hospital after they were stabbed in the chest in High Street, near Old Market Square, at 4am this morning.
Police say the victim remains in a critical condition and a major investigation is now underway into what happened during the attack and appeal has been made to the public for information.
Witnesses have been asked to forward come forward and police are working to gather evidence in the city centre. Cheapside, between Old Market Square and the Lace Market tram stops, has been cordoned off and trams are currently unable to pass through the area.
Chief Inspector Iain Blackstock, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This assault left a young person in hospital with a stab wound to his chest. Our investigation is still at an early stage and we are working hard to establish exactly what happened.
“We are working in the area to gather evidence and would also like to speak to any witnesses who have yet to come forward. If you saw this attack or anything at all suspicion in the moments before and after we would like to hear from you.”
