Donald Trump has dispatched his future daughter-in-law to Greece - just hours after photos emerged of her fiancé, Donald Trump Jr., holding hands with another woman.

Former news anchor Kimberly Guilfoyle - known as 'Caterwaul Kim' due to her screaming speeches - has been appointed America’s Ambassador to the country, which will see her based in Athens. “For many years, Kimberly has been a close friend and ally,” the president-elect announced on Truth Social.

“Her extensive experience and leadership in law, media, and politics along with her sharp intellect make her supremely qualified to represent the United States and safeguard its interests abroad. “Kimberly is perfectly suited to foster strong bilateral relations with Greece, advancing our interests on issues ranging from defence cooperation to trade and economic innovation.”

In happier times, the couple planned to wed after the breakdown of both their first marriages

The timing of the announcement raised eyebrows, as it coincided with Trump Jr., 46, being photographed with Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson, 38. The First Son avoided addressing the rumours in a statement to X, instead congratulating Guilfoyle.

“I am so proud of Kimberly. She loves America and she always has wanted to serve the country as an Ambassador. She will be an amazing leader for America First,” he wrote. While the couple has not officially split, Trump Jr. has reportedly told those in his inner circle that he has “moved on”.

Guilfoyle, 55, who was previously married to California Governor Gavin Newsom, began dating Trump Jr. in 2018. After the president-elect’s announcement, she took to X to say she had accepted the role.

“I’m honoured to accept President Trump’s nomination to serve as the next Ambassador to Greece, and I look forward to earning the support of the US Senate,” Guilfoyle said. “President Trump’s historic victory is bringing hope and optimism to the American people and to freedom-loving allies across the world.

“It was the democratic values born in Greece that helped shape the founding of America. And now, we have an opportunity to honour that history by bringing better days here at home and abroad. As ambassador, I look forward to delivering on the Trump agenda, supporting our Greek allies, and ushering in a new era of peace and prosperity.”

Guilfoyle’s ambitions for foreign diplomacy echo her Republican National Convention speech in July, where she declared, “In our vision, America will combat foreign aggressors and ensure our service members are protected, not abandoned, as they carry out their dangerous missions abroad. We know we can only have peace through strength.”

In addition to her nomination, Trump has tapped another family connection for foreign relations, appointing his daughter Tiffany’s father-in-law, Massad Boulos, as senior adviser to the Middle East.
