Report: Autopsies of Sri Aman couple to be done at Sarawak General Hospital

KUCHING (Jan 15): Post-mortem examinations on the bodies of a husband and wife suspected to have been murdered in Taman Mutiara, Sri Aman on Wednesday will be carried out today.

Harian Metro reported Sarawak police commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah as saying the autopsies will be conducted at Sarawak General Hospital here.

He said the post-mortems are necessary to determine the cause of death and injuries sustained by both victims.

As of this morning, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.

When contacted by Buletin Utama TV3 on Wednesday, Mohamad Zainal confirmed there were no signs of a break-in at the victims’ residence.

He said no valuables were missing from the house based on information from one of the victims’ children.

On Wednesday, the husband and wife were found dead with severe injuries to their bodies in their home.

Police received information from a member of the public regarding the discovery of the unconscious couple at 6.55am.

Initial examinations confirmed that both victims, a 45-year-old man and his 44-year-old wife, had died at the scene.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The motive and cause of the incident are still under investigation, with efforts to gather evidence and record witness statements actively ongoing.

It is understood that the man was Andy Roy Junran, a headmaster at a school in Lubok Antu, while his wife Angelin Kibin was a nurse.

They are said to have had two daughters and a son.

Their bodies were discovered by one of their children, who was getting ready for school and noticed they had not come out of their bedroom.
