Vijay is likely to retain key portfolios including Home, Police, and Public Administration in the new government, IANS reported, citing party sources.
Other TVK leaders who took oath as ministers in Vijay's maiden cabinet were: N Anand, Aadhav Arjuna, KA Sengottaiyan, KG Arunraj, P Venkataramanan, R Nirmalkumar, Rajmohan, TK Prabhu, and S Keerthana.
Notably, the Congress, which extended support to the TVK after the Assembly election results, is also expected to get representation in the Cabinet.

Tamil Nadu election 2026
Vijay's TVK emerged as the single-largest party in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Notably, he won two seats, Perambur and Trichy East, and will resign from one.
However, TVK fell short of the majority mark on its own. Subsequently, it secured the backing of the Congress, CPI, CPI-M, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), taking the tally to 120 MLAs, above the majority mark of 118 in the 234-member state assembly.
Vijay, often referred to as the 'Thalapathy', showed a crowd-pulling ability in the election rallies. The swearing-in of Vijay marks a watershed moment in Tamil Nadu politics, as a non-Dravidian party has come to power in the state for the first time after decades.
