This crash is the latest in a string of vehicular accidents by Woods. In 2021, he suffered serious leg injures and was hospitalized after another rollover car accident in Los Angeles. He underwent surgery after that crash, and paramedics had to use a rescue tool to extract him from his car. After the crash, Woods had a long path to recovery and walking again after he had compound fractures in both legs and a broken ankle. Fourteen months after the crash, he competed at the 2022 Masters and finished 47th.

Woods hasn’t competed in a golf tournament since 2024. He’s been on a comeback tour after rupturing his Achilles last year and undergoing back surgery.

In a 2017 incident, police found Woods asleep behind the wheel of a car improperly parked on the road. He pleaded guilty to reckless driving and attended a clinic to help with a sleep disorder and prescription medication. And in 2009 while he was driving an SUV, he ran over a fire hydrant crashed into a tree.
