Selangor Govt Cancels Raya Open House in Respect of Putra Heights Fire Victims

In an official statement by the Selangor government, Selangor Chief Minister Amirudin Shari said the state government decided to call off the event in respect of the victims of the Putra Heights fire. The decision was made after it was approved by Sultan Selangor and the Prime Minister.
The open house was initially scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday, April 6).
“I represent the entire state government and apologize to everyone for the inconvenience caused. We would like to respect the affected families and households.”
In another statement by Amirudin, at the time of writing (April 5), a total of 130 households out of 235 affected households in Putra Heights have been allowed to return home after it was deemed safe.
A total of 509 families are affected by the blaze and currently, 157 families are seeking shelter at the temporary evacuation center (PPS), and the remaining families are staying outside the PPS.
