Spanish police are investigating a break-in to Troy Parrott's Seville home during Real Betis's La Liga clash with Barcelona last Saturday.

According to media reports in Spain, masked intruders were caught on CCTV entering Parrott's property in El Zaudin, a residential estate on the outskirts of the city. They reportedly left without taking anything.

Parrott was introduced as a second-half substitute against Barca, who won the game 5-2.

There's a been a string of robberies targeting footballers in the area recently.

Antony - Parrott's clubmate - had his home burgled just over a week ago during Betis' Champions League defeat of Porto.

The ex-Manchester United winger detailed the incident on Instagram, saying: "What should have been a beautiful night ended in anger and frustration. My house was robbed.

"It's hard to describe the feeling of having your home broken into. Everything we worked so hard for and poured our hearts into obtaining was taken by someone who has no idea how much hardship we went through to get it.

"The most infuriating thing is not just the loss of belongings, but the loss of security in a place where we should feel most protected, and seeing the unease in my family's eyes."

Last Monday, ex-Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico endured a terrifying ordeal when his home was broken into while his family was inside. Some were held at gunpoint and forced to hand over jewellery and watches.

Back in 2023, Sergio Ramos' house was robbed while his children and minders were present. Ramos was playing for Sevilla against Lens at the time of the incident.

A spokesman for the Civil Guard in Seville said they are are investigating a series of robberies in the Aljarafe region of Seville. No arrests have yet been made.
