Woman critically injured in Limerick hit-and-run incident

Gardaí are at the scene of a hit-and-run incident in Rathkeale, Co Limerick, in which a woman pedestrian in her 20s was critically injured.

Gardaí say a silver coloured Ford Transit van failed to remain at the scene of the incident, which happened at about 12.15pm this afternoon.

The woman was brought to University Hospital Limerick, where she is in a critical condition.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

"Any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dashcam) and were in the area between 11:30am and 1:00pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí," they said in a statement.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Rathkeale Garda Station on 069 63222, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
