Who is Paige Shiver, the executive assistant of fired Michigan coach Sherrone Moore?

· New York Post

Paige Shiver, the executive assistant of fired University of Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore, has deep ties to the sports world as the daughter of a veteran Chicago Bears scout, it has been revealed.

The 32-year-old, who was only recently promoted to her current role within Michigan’s athletic department, was swept up in the scandal this week after her now-ex-boss was arrested for allegedly breaking into her apartment armed with a knife.

While school officials and local authorities have not identified Shiver as the alleged victim or Moore’s mistress, Washtenaw County prosecutor Kati Rezmierski provided information during the ex-coach’s arraignment Friday which indicates she’s at the center of the scandal.

Rezmierski said the female victim was in an “intimate relationship” with Moore for a number of years, and a confrontation between Moore and the victim took place at her home — which public records show belongs to Shiver.

The scandal burst into the public view Wednesday when Michigan athletics announced Moore was fired for having an “inappropriate relationship” with a staffer.

As the saga unfolds, it has emerged that Shiver’s pigskin proclivities stretch beyond Michigan.

Her father Jeff works in the Bears front office and has been scouting the best college football players for more than three decades.

Meanwhile, her uncle, Emerson Kampen III, played basketball at Butler University and his currently an assistant coach on the men’s basketball staff at the Indianapolis university.

In 2016, Shiver — a native of West Lafayette, Ind. and graduate of Purdue University — was profiled on the Bears’ official website as she sought to raise awareness of Pompe Disease, a rare and progressive disorder she was diagnosed with midway through her junior year of college.

The disease, which affects roughly 1 in 40,000 Americans, hinders the heart and skeletal muscles.

“I get a lot of pain throughout my body,” she acknowledged in the profile.

“When I am in pain, I am really in pain and there is nothing that can be done but hope and pray that it will go away. This disease has been such an impact on my life and sometimes I feel as if it has taken over my life because every day is a battle.”

Despite her medical woes, Shiver’s career path eventually led her to collegiate sports administration.

She joined the University of Michigan as an administrative specialist within the athletic department for the 2022-23 school year, according to publicly available records.

Beginning in the 2024-25 fiscal year, Shiver received a 55% salary bump, with her annual pay jumping from $58,025 to $90,000, the records show.

She was promoted to the role of executive assistant to the head coach in mid-November.

Shiver has also become part of local lore — she has a $12, 12-inch, gluten-free cauliflower pizza named after her at The Brown Jug, a popular restaurant in Ann Arbor.

Moore also has a dish in his honor — a sampler basket with jalapeno poppers, chicken tenders, onion rings and cheese sticks with two choices of sauce for just $13.

Until recently, Shiver frequently shared pictures of herself on the sidelines of Michigan games — before making her social media private as the scandal surrounding her former boss exploded.

Before going dark on social media, Moore had liked Instagram photos of Shiver dating back to 2021, screengrabs of the now-private account show.

The attractive blonde and Moore’s wife of 10 years, Kelli, also followed each other on the platform.

Her name became tied to the saga after it emerged that the apartment Moore allegedly broke into in Pittsfield Township on Wednesday was where Shriver lived.

Records show the young woman rented the one-bedroom dwelling for roughly $1,800 per month.

A female caller reported to a 911 dispatcher that Moore, the second-year head coach of the Wolverines, was armed with a knife and had been stalking her “for months,” according to police audio.

The audio also indicated Moore had threatened to harm himself during the exchange, after which he fled on foot before being arrested at a nearby church.

The incident at Shiver’s address came soon after Moore — who has been married to Kelli since 2015 and has three daughters — was canned by Michigan over the “inappropriate” relationship with a staffer.

Rumors about Moore’s extracurricular activities had been rampant around the program but matters came to a head this week when Moore was advised not to work directly with the staffer, Maize and Blue Review reported.

When Moore decided to fire the woman instead of transferring her elsewhere in the football program or the athletic department, she reportedly came forward with details of their alleged affair.

Fresh from his firing, the ousted coach is then said to have left the football facility and headed straight to Shiver’s apartment.

Moore was charged with felony home invasion and a pair of misdemeanors, including stalking and breaking and entering, authorities said Friday.

He appeared in court and was granted $25,000 bond, which was posted soon after his arraignment, leading to his release.

The Saline, Mich., Police Department, the Pittsfield Township Police Department, and the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department did not respond immediately to requests for comment.

Attempts to contact Moore and Shiver were not successful.
