Joseph Duggar's Wife Kendra Duggar Arrested, Couple Facing New Charges

Kendra Duggar is now facing criminal charges alongside her husband, Joseph Duggar, after his child molestation arrest.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office confirmed to Us Weekly on Friday, March 20, that Kendra, 27, was arrested and booked amid an ongoing investigation. She was later released after paying her bond, which was set at $1470.

According to a Friday press release from the Tontitown police Department in Arkansas, Joseph, 31, and Kendra are facing four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, second degree and four counts of second degree false imprisonment.

No additional details were provided as the investigation remains "active and ongoing."

Joseph was arrested on Thursday, March 19, on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior involving molestation of a victim less than 12 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 years or older.

According to a police report, Joseph was accused of molesting an unidentified victim when she was 9-years-old during a 2020 vacation to Panama City Beach, Florida. The victim, who is now 14, participated in a forensic interview with authorities.

"The victim reported Duggar repeatedly asked her to sit on his lap," Bay City police said in a statement on Thursday. "As the vacation continued, he also asked her to sit next to him on a couch and covered them with a blanket. During this time, Duggar manipulated the victim's underwear and grazed her genitals. Duggar would also continue to rub his hands on her thighs."

The victim told authorities that Joseph stopped and "eventually apologized for his actions." The victim's father allegedly confronted Joseph about the incidents earlier this month and the 19 Kids and Counting alum "admitted his actions to the victim's father and to Tontitown Detectives," per the police.

Joseph is currently awaiting extradition to Florida to face the charges. He appeared in court virtually on Friday. He did not enter a plea and waived his right to an extradition hearing.

Joseph rose to fame as one of Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar's 19 children. The pair also share Josh, Jana, John-David, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Josiah, Joy-Anna, Jedidiah, Jeremiah, Jason, James, Justin, Jackson, Johannah, Jennifer, Jordyn-Grace and Josie. The family's life was featured on the TLC series 19 Kids and Counting.

Joseph and Kendra fell in love after meeting at church. The couple tied the knot in September 2017 after getting engaged three months before. Joseph and Kendra share four children: sons Garrett and Justus and daughters Addison and Brooklyn.
