Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman, Naval Operations chief fired

Feb. 21 (UPI) -- The Trump administration on Friday purged the top military brass, firing Air Force Gen. Charles Q. Brown, Jr. as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Chief of Naval Operations Lisa Franchetti and Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force James Slife.

These moves come as the Pentagon braces for the dismissal of up to 76,000 civilians and an 8% reduction in the Department of Defense budget.
