Six killed in Jerusalem shooting; Netanyahu vows to catch attackers
by Danielle Haynes & Darryl Coote · UPISept. 8 (UPI) -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to "catch" all involved in a mass shooting that killed six people and injured more than a dozen others Monday in Jerusalem.
The shooting happened at Ramot Junction on Yigal Yadin Street at 3:13 a.m. EDT. Among the dead were three men in their 30s, a woman in her 50s and a man in his 50s, the Magen David Adom ambulance service said, according to the BBC.
Of the 12 people injured, seven were listed in serious condition and nine others were hospitalized with gunshot wounds. Among the injured was a pregnant woman, Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said.
Officials said "the terrorists were neutralized."

According to Israel Police, two gunmen who arrived at Ramot in a vehicle opened fire at a bus stop.
"In response, a security forces member and a civilian present at the scene fired at the terrorists, and they were neutralized," it said in a statement on X.
Netanyahu visited the scene of the attack later Monday and offered his condolences to the families involved.
"We are fighting terrorism -- the terrorist regime of the Houthi, Iran, that backs everyone, in Gaza, Lebanon, Hezbollah, in all sectors," Netanyahu said, according to ABC News. "We are not letting up and we will not let up. We are nailing our actions, and we will achieve our goals.
"We are now pursuing and surrounding the villages from which the murderers came. We will catch everyone who helped them, everyone who sent them."
No one has claimed responsibility for the shooting.
Hamas, which Israel is battling in Gaza, issued a statement commending Monday's attack. It said the shooting was a "natural response" to Israel's military action in Gaza.
There have been a number of attacks at Ramot in recent years.
In February 2023, three Israelis were killed and four others were injured when a suspect drove a car into pedestrians at a bus stop in the Ramot neighborhood.
In November 2022, three people were injured when a bomb detonated at a bus stop at the junction.
