Savannah Guthrie to return to 'Today' April 6
by Jessica Inman · UPIMarch 27 (UPI) -- Savannah Guthrie will return to anchor Today April 6, months after her 84-year-old mother's disappearance in February.
Hoda Kotb announced the news on Today Friday, NBC News reported.
"It's where she belongs. It's where we all want her to be," Craig Melvin said on the show.
Guthrie had stepped away from her role when her mother, Nancy Guthrie, went missing. Officials have suggested that Nancy Guthrie might have been abducted or kidnapped, but have not shared a motive.
"I can't come back and try to be something that I'm not," Savannah Guthrie told Kotb in an interview. "But I can't not come back because it's my family. I don't know if I can do it. I don't know if I'll belong anymore, but I would like to try. I would like to try."
"I will not let whoever did this take my children's mother from them," she added.
