Ellen DeGeneres 'clashes with UK neighbours over home improvements'
by Kelly Ashmore, Jamie Roberts, https://www.facebook.com/theblackcountrylive/ · Birmingham LiveEllen DeGeneres was reportedly clashing with neighbours over her £15million UK home. A fence and extension were said to be the cause of the dispute, with the former US chat show host being accused of 'creating a flood risk'.
It's claimed Ellen, 67, and wife Portia de Rossi, 52, made a 'technical breach' with the improvements at their Cotswolds home. The couple's updates were thought to risk disturbing Roman remains on the site, the Mirror reports.
The proposed work has led to parish councillors contacting local planning enforcement officers to voice their concerns. According to Mail Online, they said the onus would be on the owner of a property to report any historic remains uncovered.

The publication reports that parish council minutes read: "Concern was expressed by residents that the hedge and wire fence could 'increase flood risk in the village' if rubbish was swept down and 'caught on the fence', thereby 'limiting flow across the field'."
In December, when the UK was hit by torrential rain and 80mph winds, which caused severe flooding, Ellen took to Instagram to share an update to confirm her 43-acre estate had not been affected when the River Thames overflowed. She told followers: "P.S. for those of you concerned, our UK farmhouse did NOT flood."
Ellen and Portia reportedly decided to move to the British countryside in November 2024 when Donald Trump was re-elected as US president. However, according to TMZ, Ellen and Portia had already purchased a home in Cotswolds prior the election.
