Attempted murder arrests as victim left with facial injuries after shooting

Two men were held on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting. Police said the trouble happened in Coventry last month.

A victim, a man aged in his 20s, suffered serious facial injuries after shots were fired in Caludon Castle Park on October 21. West Midlands Police said two men - aged 19 and 20 - were held this morning, Wednesday, November 27.

A 19-year-old man was previously charged with attempted murder. Police inquiries are ongoing.

Police said in a statement: "We've arrested two men on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting in Coventry. We acted on information and detained the men - aged 19 and 20 - earlier this morning.

"It comes after a man in his 20s sustained serious facial injuries after shots were fired in Caludon Castle Park on October 21. A 19-year-old man has already been charged with attempted murder but our enquiries into what happened have been continuing.
