President Donald Trump, on Friday, July 11, visited Kerrville in Central Texas to survey the damage inflicted by flash floods in that part of the state over the 4th of July Weekend. At least 119 deaths have been reported.
Trump spoke to reporters during a press conference in Kerrville, and he angrily lashed out at a female journalist in response to her question.
The reporter, who said she was with CBS News in Texas, asked about the warning system for disasters in her state — telling Trump, "Several families we heard from are obviously upset because they say those warnings, those alerts didn't go out in time, and they also say that people could have been saved. What do you say to those families?"

Trump was quick to attack her, responding, "Well, I think everyone did an incredible job under the circumstances. Only a bad person would ask a question like that, to be honest with you. I don’t know who you are, but only a very evil person would ask a question like that."
Trump's diatribe against the reporter is receiving a lot of discussion on X, formerly Twitter.
Podcast host Brian Tyler Cohen tweeted, "Wow. Trump says that Texas families who are concerned about the lack of warning before the deadly floods are 'evil.' 'Only a very evil person would ask a question like that.'"
X user Lucien Wolfe commented, "They won't tell you this, but FEMA had full satellite data 48 hours before the Texas floods. Warnings were flagged — and ignored. Trump calling the victims 'evil' for asking questions? That's not just gaslighting. That’s damage control. Because here's the kicker: The delay wasn't incompetence — it was policy. Delays in federal response have historically been tied to contract incentives for reconstruction firms and state-level insurance manipulators. Same playbook as Katrina. Same networks. Only this time, the cover-up started early."
Another X user, Theodore Welton, wrote, "Trump is a dangerous menace to Earth!

Retired immunology professor Jim Hagman posted, "Trump is telling people to S--- if they want to say anything critical of him or Republicans. They've been finding creative ways to assign the blame to (former President Joe) Biden for days.
Activist Matthew Luckey observed, "Trump's reflex is to attack no matter what, no matter the substance of the issues. Toxic."
