Multiple agencies are investigating an explosion at a Harvard Medical School building early Saturday morning that arson investigators say appears intentional.

The Harvard University Police Department first responded to the fire alarm at the Goldenson building at 220 Longwood Ave. in Boston around 2:48 a.m. As the officer approached, they saw two people fleeing the building.

When the officer checked the building, they found evidence of an explosion. The Boston Fire Department Arson Unit then responded. Investigators suspect the explosion was intentional.

Police released surveillance photos of the two suspects Saturday afternoon.

Police conducted a sweep but found no other devices. No one was hurt.

Harvard University police are working with local, state and federal partners on the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call them at 617-495-1796.
