Deputies called after woman illegally entered property of Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff
Former Vice President Harris and her husband were not home at the time.
by Jonathan Lloyd · 5 NBCDFWSecurity team members stopped a person Friday night who illegally entered the Malibu property of former Vice President Kamala Harris and husband Doug Emhoff, a spokesperson for Harris said.
The former U.S. Senator and her husband were not at the residence at the time.
"Last night, security personnel stopped an individual who illegally entered Vice President Harris and Second Gentleman Emhoff's property before the individual reached the home," said spokesperson Eduardo Negrón. "Vice President Harris and Second Gentleman Emhoff were not present. They are grateful to the security and law enforcement personnel who responded swiftly."
Law enforcement told NBC4 Investigates that authorities responded to a call at about 10:30 p.m. When they arrived at the residence, they spoke with a woman who complied after she was asked to leave the property.
No arrests were reported. Details about the woman's identity and why she was on the property were not immediately available.
Harris and Emhoff own a home in the Point Dume area of Malibu and in Los Angeles' Brentwood neighborhood. In January 2025, two people were arrested near the Brentwood residence for curfew violations in connection with the Palisades Fire.
