Prince William to attend funeral of Pope Francis as royalty confirms presence in Rome

The Prince of Wales will attend the funeral of Pope Francis in the Vatican City.

Prince William will represent King Charles at the service which will take place on the morning of April 26th 2025.

The heir to the throne will join kings, queens and politicians at the service.

The Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, has also confirmed his attendance at the funeral. The US President, Donald Trump, is also expected to be there.

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of the Belgians will be present as will King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain.

Pope Francis died on April 21st 2025, just hours after greeting the faithful in St. Peter’s Square on Easter Sunday.
