Lindsay Clancy’s lawyer asks Trump to pardon mom

Lindsay Clancy’s tireless attorney is appealing today to President Donald Trump to pardon his client.

“I would hope that you would consider this young lady — the type of person she is and what she’s been through — and consider a pardon,” Kevin Reddington said on-camera this morning on Good Morning America.

Yet, Trump said after last week’s stunning mistrial that Clancy will “ultimately pay” for murdering her three little children.

“It’s a terrible situation,” Trump said Sept. 4 during an Oval Office event, Yahoo.com reported. “Look, she did a horrible, horrible thing. Can’t be worse. But you’ll find out what the price to pay is, there’ll be a price. It’s going to be mental institution or jail or something.”

Next steps in the Clancy case are up to the Plymouth DA Timothy Cruz. The next hearing in the case has been set for Sept. 29. Cruz said last Friday he wouldn’t give an answer on whether his office would try the case again until he’d reviewed it with his prosecutors.

On GMA today, Reddington also dialed back his rhetoric over the 11-1 split in the deadlocked jury.

“I would defend that individual’s right to be a holdout forever, that’s part of our judicial system. I respect that and I would certainly defend his right to do that,” he said on-air.

Reddington also texted the Herald this morning to say Trump has not reached out: “Not yet.”

The Duxbury mom is accused of murdering her three children, Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and Callan, 8 months, in January 2023. She didn’t dispute during her trial that she killed the kids; instead, Reddington argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and wasn’t criminally responsible for the deaths.

After strangling the children, Clancy tried to kill herself by jumping out a window, leaving her paralyzed.

The jury was asked to decide if she committed first-degree murder, second-degree murder, manslaughter, not guilty, or is not guilty by reason of insanity. It is not clear how the jury was split and Reddington’s request to survey the jurors one by one was denied.
