The gridlock stretched from the expressway to Alapere Road and towards the Third Mainland Bridge, with spillovers into Ikorodu Road and other parts of Lagos.

The massive bottleneck, the Corps said, was initially triggered by Kara Bridge repairs and a multi-vehicle accident before compounding due to motorists driving against traffic.
