Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom has declared a major state of emergency, days after his govt denied the claim of deducting workers' salaries for compulsory tithes.

The state government said the expanded fiscal plan is to cater for new priorities, including housing estates and funding for newly created Ministries of Sports, Digital Economy, Humanitarian Services, and the Bureau of Rural Development and Cooperatives.
