Police in Anambra State have arrested a couple for allegedly using voice notes sent to residents to extort them, after threatening to kidnap or kill them.

The police said residents had complained that unknown persons via text messages and WhatsApp voice notes, often threatened to kill them if they did not pay a ransom to the unknown persons.
