Harvard filed an urgent legal challenge against President Trump’s proclamation banning foreign students from entering the US. The university called the move "illegal" and argued it undermines its mission. Harvard said without international students, "Harvard is not Harvard."

The same federal judge also extended her block on another attempt by the administration to stop the university from issuing student visas.

A US Harvard student of government, Olivia Data, said “this news is heartbreaking and scary.”

In an executive order signed Wednesday, Trump declared that it would jeopardize national security to allow Harvard to continue hosting foreign students on its campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
