One child has died at the scene of the "intense" house fire in Hamstreet, Kent Fire & Rescue says.

Lily Kennedy, 13, described by her aunt as a 'princess', was killed when the raging inferno swept through her family home in the village of Hamstreet near Ashford, Kent on Sunday lunchtime.

Those living near to the semi-detached home in Kent rushed to the scene in a bid to extinguish the ferocious flames as they tore through the property just after midday on Sunday.
