The Canadian government banned the Irish-language rap group Kneecap from the country Friday, saying the group has endorsed political violence and terrorism.

Kneecap, which is made up of Naoise O Caireallain, Liam Og O hAnnaidh and JJ O'Dochartaigh, are known for their provocative lyrics as well as their pro-Palestine stance.

The group has fired back at the Canadian government, calling their comments "deeply malicious" and threatening legal action.
