March 5 (UPI) -- Three British men arrested on Wednesday for allegedly spying for China have been released on bail, and the wife of one is being investigated by her political party.

“I am not part of my husband’s business activities and neither I nor my children are part of this investigation,” Labour lawmaker Joani Reid says.

David Taylor is one of three men who was arrested by the Metropolitan Police. He is listed on the MP's register of interests as a director of a lobbying firm.

Joani Reid’s husband has also been suspended from the party pending an investigation.

British police arrested three men, including the husband of a sitting MP, on suspicion of spying for China. The news comes weeks after Keir Starmer traveled to Beijing in a bid to repair ties with the country.
