July 11 (UPI) -- The fuel switches to both engines on the Air India Flight 171 moved to the "cutoff" position immediately before the crash that killed 260 after taking off on June 12.

The report, issued by India's Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau, did not offer any conclusions or apportion blame for the Jun 12 disaster, but indicated that one pilot asked the other why he cut off fuel, and the second pilot responded that he had not.

While the first engine’s core deceleration stopped, reversed, and began to recover, the second engine could not arrest its deceleration, according to the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau’s report released today, a month after the June 12 crash.
