Likely to skip Jal Shakti meet on controversial project

Telangana government has conveyed to Centre that Godavari-Banakacherla project proposed by Andhra should not be on agenda for the meeting.

Even as anticipation builds over the proposed dialogue between Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Apex Council meeting convened by the Union Jal Shakti Ministry in New Delhi on July 16, the Telangana government has delivered a rude shock to Andhra Pradesh.

Telangana said that any discussion on the Godavari-Banakacherla link project at this juncture is "unequivocally premature and procedurally untenable".
