Amid a row over the use of animal fat in prasada given at Tirumala temple in Andhra's Tirupati district, Amul issued a clarification on Friday, stating that it had never supplied ghee to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD).

The row over animal fat in the Tirupati laddu took a new turn on Friday with the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) approaching the Andhra Pradesh High Court to seek a probe into the allegations.

TDP supremo and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu claimed that the previous YSRCP government did not even spare Sri Venkateswara temple and used substandard ingredients and animal fat for making laddus.
