The court granted the interim order while emphasising that the right to peaceful assembly remains protected as long as demonstrators avoid prohibited zones.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the court also barred the protesters from anywhere close to the villa, National Assembly, Force Headquarters, Court of Appeal, Eagle Square and Shehu Shagari Way, pending the hearing of the motion on notice.
