WASHINGTON >> President Donald Trump today vowed to implement a wave of increasing tariffs on European allies until the United States is allowed to buy Greenland, escalating a row over the future of Denmark’s vast Arctic island.

With a population of just under 57,000, Greenland has said it does not wish to become part of the United States of America.
