Leading political figures in Ireland have paid tribute to the RTE politicial reporter, whose successful broadcasting career began in the 1980s when he joined Morning Ireland

Taoiseach Simon Harris paid tribute to him as “a trusted name who was welcomed into homes across the country throughout his long career”.

The veteran reporter passed away today.

The Taoiseach described David Davin-Power as a “consummate professional” and a “gentleman” and extended his sympathies to Davin-Power's family
