Iran has sent its response to a US proposal aimed at ending the more than two-month war, Iran's IRNA news agency has said.

The U.S. and Iran have submitted multiple peace proposals since Pakistan brokered a ceasefire between the two sides in early April.

The proposed agreement aims to terminate the ongoing hostilities, restore commercial access to the strategic shipping lanes, and enforce a reversal of the Iranian nuclear programme.
