May 27 (UPI) -- Kenneth Iwamasa, a personal assistant who worked for Friends actor Matthew Perry, was sentenced Wednesday to three years and five months in prison for injecting Perry with the dose of ketamine that killed him.

Kenneth Iwamasa, who pleaded guilty last year to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing death, said he "will forever regret" his actions.

Kenneth Iwamasa had pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine resulting in death. As part of a plea agreement, he admitted to repeatedly injecting Perry with ketamine without medical training, including the lethal dose.

Kenneth Iwamasa, who pleaded guilty last year to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing death, said he "will forever regret" his actions.

Matthew Perry’s assistant has been sentenced to almost 3 1/2 years for injecting the actor with the ketamine that killed him. The judge acknowledged that there was no evidence he acted with malicious intent.

'Friends' actor, Matthew Perry died in October 2023. Now, recent reports are claiming that Matthew's former assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, is facing claims of evidence destruction.
