April 7 (UPI) -- An Indianapolis city councilor said a gunman shot more than a dozen rounds at his home, seemingly over a proposed data center for the city.

An Indianapolis, Indiana city councilor on Monday said his home was shot in what may be a politically motivated attack over a proposed data center in the Martindale-Brightwood neighborhood.

An Indianapolis lawmaker says someone opened fire on his home early Monday and left a note saying "No data centers" after he supported building a facility in a historic neighborhood.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said officers found evidence of gunshots and believe it was "an isolated, targeted incident."
