Major TV networks suspend White House pool coverage after Trump ban
WASHINGTON — Major television networks suspended their White House pool coverage and will no longer send camera crews to cover President Donald Trump's pool events, standing in solidarity with CNN after Trump denied White House access to reporters of three outlets. The move from the five networks that make up the television pool ? ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox News, in addition to CNN ? means a broadcast television feed that is distributed widely for media won't be carried for most of Trump's events. Bryan Boughton, DC bureau chief of Fox News and chair of the television pool, relayed the decision in a Sept. 21 email to pool members. "This follows the White House's position preventing CNN from fulfilling its assigned pool duties," Boughton said in the email, which was obtained by USA TODAY. "There will be no replacement pool put in place."
