The house of Asker Ali -- BJP Minority Morcha's Manipur president --- was set on fire by a mob late on Sunday evening, allegedly for supporting the Waqf Amendment Act, sources said. Protests were held today in different Muslims pockets of the state.

Manipur BJP Minority Morcha president Askar Ali Makakmayum's residence was vandalised and set ablaze by a mob after he supported the recently passed Waqf bill. Following the incident, Askar Ali apologised and urged the government to repeal the new law.
