The US and Iran agreed to a 60-day roadmap after talks in Switzerland mediated by Qatar and Pakistan. The plan opens technical negotiations on verification, sanctions, maritime safety and Lebanon de-confliction.

Vice President JD Vance said "good progress" was made in negotiations on a framework toward reaching a final peace deal within 60 days, including the guarantee of safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, an end to fighting in Lebanon, and Tehran's acceptance of visits by IAEA inspectors.

Iran noted “major progress” to end the fighting in Lebanon and called that the first real test of the negotiations.

The US-Iran talks began on Sunday in Switzerland, after last week's agreement, which includes a commitment to reach a final deal within 60 days.
