May 3 (UPI) -- The United States will try to "free" cargo ships that have been trapped in the Strait of Hormuz since the start of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran began on Feb. 28, President Donald Trump wrote in social media post on Sunday.

Trump also said that he could not imagine Iran's proposals would be acceptable and that Tehran had not paid a big enough price for what it had done.

Trump declined to specify what could trigger new military action against the Islamic republic.

The US is yet to formally confirm it has responded. However, Trump reportedly told Israel's Kan News it was unacceptable.

May 2 (UPI) -- Iran on Saturday submitted a new proposal to end the war with the U.S. and Israel, which President Donald Trump said he plans to review.
