Supreme Court Orders States to Remove Stray Dogs from Schools and Hospitals
In a significant directive, the Supreme Court has ordered all states and Union Territories to remove stray dogs from around schools, hospitals, and public spaces and relocate them to shelters. District Magistrates have been instructed to ensure proper fencing of public institutions and conduct regular inspections. The court also ruled that captured dogs must not be released back to the same areas, aiming to protect public safety while ensuring humane treatment of animals.
