Satadru Dutta was the chief organiser of Lionel Messi’s GOAT Tour of India, including the Kolkata leg that ended in crowd unrest after Messi left the venue within minutes.

Dutta was taken into custody on Saturday following widespread chaos at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, which led the Argentine World Cup-winning captain to leave early.

The promoter and organiser of football superstar Lionel Messi’s proposed G.O.A.T India Tour 2025 was produced before a Bidhannagar court on Sunday, which remanded him to 14 days of police custody in connection with the case.

A court sent Satadru Datta, the chief organiser of the Lionel Messi football event where chaos erupted a day ago, to 14-day police custody.

After the distressful chaos at Salt Lake stadium in Kolkata, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Dilip Ghosh  on Sunday stressed that the incident is shameful for West Bengal and demanded that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee take responsibility.
