The Beed case is the latest in a string of gruesome spousal killings that have dominated headlines across India over the past year. In several of these cases, wives have been accused of orchestrating the murders of their husbands, allegedly with the help of lovers or hired killers, over extramarital affairs, financial disputes, property conflicts or years of marital strife.
