Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar said during a visit to Beijing that India supports China's SCO leadership. It comes after New Delhi indicated it wanted to permanently resolve a Himalayan border dispute.

Calling the current international situation "complex," EAM Jaishankar said, "The international situation is very complex. As neighbouring nations, an open exchange of views and perspectives between India and China is very important."

In his opening remarks at the meeting, Jaishankar said the relations between the two countries can continue to develop on a "positive trajectory" on the foundation that differences should not become disputes and competition should not become conflict.
