The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Niranjan Chandra Sutradhar, who ran a jointly owned jewellery shop in the Atharbari Building area of Mymensingh.

Police recovered Niranjan Chandra Sutradhar's body from a floating drum near a Mymensingh sluice gate. Investigators say he may have been killed before the body was dumped, and no motive has been established.
